This book presents a modern integrative perspective to understand the characteristics of juvenile delinquency and their care and rehabilitation needs.
It is a perspective that presents a philosophy of care that shifts from punishment and social stigma to rehabilitation, empowerment, restoration of human dignity, reconciliation with oneself, family, and society, and the acquisition of social competence.
This work consists of three complementary sections. The first of these presents the categories of juvenile delinquency, the characteristics of each of them, and the extent of their need for rehabilitation and empowerment.
The second section presents the dimensions of the process of comprehensive evaluation to put the juvenile in its problems and capabilities, leading to the formation of the file that constitutes the basis for the development of its care policy. The third section presents methods of care and programs that address problems and unleash the energies of growth and social implantation.
It ends with a summary that presents the elements for professionalizing work with delinquent juveniles in terms of academic preparation and professional path.
