This book is the fruit of a forty-year dialogue with Maulana, a very personal dialogue, and from here Rumi will be represented not as a Sufi sheikh whose poems bear the stamp of neo-platonic contemplations, but rather as a highly sensitive human being. The religion of Tabrizi, and as this light transformed it and this fire matured it, Rumi saw the world in a new light.
