So "Helen", the heroine of the novel, was able to destroy her husband's reluctance and plant her love in his heart with her actions only! There is no doubt that Shakespeare was prompted to write such a play, and there is no doubt that a large part of its success is due to the fact that it is a comedic play in the first place, far from the tragedies that Shakespeare used to present.
